Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese art studied to promote relaxation and to encourage meditation. The slow, flowing exercise of the Tai Chi “form” is taught along with several breathing exercises. Tai Chi is often called “meditation in motion” as it encompasses both physical and mental exercise. ONGOING CLASS

Time passes quickly when you’re having fun and getting fit. This class offers one full hour of “fun, dance & fitness.” Move your body to oldies, pop, show tunes, country, etc. Using light weights, hula hoops, bands, canes & pom-poms. Covering color terminology, the color wheel and how to apply it, properties of color, how different light sources affect color perception, and effects of color combining in different media and in composition. Hands-on experimenting with color identification and mixing using watercolor, acrylics and color papers.

Class will be drawing pastel portraits from life. We will also cover easy ways to utilize drawing from photos, and proper composition for portrait paintings. Any nude models used will be discreetly hidden in a closet from where they will be expected to loudly describe themselves for the gathered artists (just kidding...no nudes used in this class). Class guaranteed to be entertaining with a little music. Singers welcome.

Come explore a new technique in felting- the reverse needle! Explore how you can create a “fluffy” texture with felting, and learn to blend colors through using this technique as well! In this class, you will be taught step by step how to create a chick or a duck and then create this beautiful texture to add a finishing touch! All levels welcome and all materials provided.
