This is a hands-on class that will introduce you to some basic methods of transferring photos from inkjet prints onto watercolor paper, fabric and tile. Bring something to burnish your images; spoon will work, bring bone folder and burnishing roller if you already have them. Photos and transfer   medium will be supplied. FABRIC ART - GRADATION DYEING

Learn gradation dyeing process using fiber reactive dyes and cotton fabrics. Students will dye 8 different “fat quarters” of fabric, each a different hue, ranging from one color to the next. Two yards of fabric     provided. DYES ARE MESSY -  DRESS APPROPRIATELY.

FABRIC ART MARBLING

Beginners learn the principles of drawing by working with basic shapes and the still life.  This basic course concentrates on developing awareness of line, form, shape, texture and perspective using various   techniques and materials. A course devoted to drawing from a live model.  Students will make realistic figure studies, emphasizing line, form,      anatomy and lighting. Instructor works individually with students at their level.  All levels of talent or experience welcome.  Please bring sketch pad (the larger, the better) or newsprint pad, charcoal and a #B pencil.

 

INTERMEDIATE DRAWING

A continuing study of drawing for students who consider themselves a level above    beginner or have completed adult Intro to Drawing class. FOLK ART

This course is designed for people interested in clay work at all levels.  Tiles, address plates, coil pots and boxes are popular forms.  Unlike slipcast work, we use the potter’s wheel, slabs & coils to build from scratch!  Glazing and decorating pieces are also   covered.  Satisfaction & fun guaranteed.  Please note that this class is limited to 10 students. This course is designed for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.  Basic       instruction in preparing clay for throwing and learning how to center, open up and throw a cylinder that can be made into a cup, vase, bowl, etc. Experienced students will be taught how to make pitchers, casseroles with lids, wine    goblets, etc. Trimming and glazing are also included.    Students need to be prepared with trimmed fingernails and a towel. Must be at least 18 years old. Class is limited to 8 people. Register Early!

Students learn to play classical harp incorporating the Salzedo method which includes hand and wrist placement, finger technique and raising.  Beginners learn to read music. Students must have their own harp and must call to see what method books would best serve them.  Students do not have to have a pedal harp;     classical harp can be taught on a lever (Celtic) harp.

Tai Chi Chuan is a system of maintaining mind & body health using a finite series of 60  movements in patterned sequences.
