This basic course concentrates on developing awareness of line, form, shape, texture and perspective using various techniques and materials. Students will make realistic figure studies, emphasizing line, form, anatomy and lighting. Instructor works individually with students at their level. All levels of talent or experience welcome. Please bring sketch pad (the larger, the better) or newsprint pad, charcoal and a #B pencil. This course is designed for people interested in clay work at all levels. Tiles, address plates, coil pots and boxes are popular forms. THROWING ON THE WHEEL Janet Kurland Wed. 10 :00 am - Noon OR Thurs. 6:30 - 8:30 pm $130/$145 + $15 Supply Fee 8 Week Session Clay cost not included Adults (18 yrs +) This course is designed for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Basic instruction in preparing clay for throwing and learning how to center, open up and throw a cylinder that can be made into a cup, vase, bowl, etc. Experienced students will be taught how to make pitchers, casseroles with lids, wine goblets, etc. Trimming and glazing are also included. Students need to be prepared with trimmed fingernails and a towel. Must be at least 18 years old. Class is limited to 8 people. Register Early!
STAINED GLASS
INTRODUCTION TO STAINED GLASS - Begins 4/10 Annie Arena Tuesday 7:00 - 9:00 pm $120/$135 + $25 Supply Fee 6 Week Session ($18 per class for former students) Ages 16 yrs. + Introduce yourself to the beautiful world of glass. You will be taught the skills needed to create suncatchers, panels, cabinet doors or whatever your imagination wills. Materials provided include tools and one sheet of glass to complete your first project. Anyone wishing to complete a project from previous classes may contact instructor between sessions.

All students will learn the language of music, develop performance skills and grow in the appreciation of music. Students must have at their disposal either an acoustic piano or keyboard.

Beginners receive instruction in reading chord charts, tablature and staff notation. Learn many styles including classical, jazz, pop, rockn’roll and blues. Guitar rentals available.
DRUM Robert Boney By Appointment $23 per 40 minute session Students learn sight reading, ear training, snare drum rudiments, drum set, dynamics in music, use of sticks, mallets and brushes in all musical settings. Preparation for school band, community orchestras, pop bands, college concert and marching bands. Taught by experienced, professional musician. HARP Stephanie Sussmeier By Appointment $25 - 30 minute session $30 - 1 hour session Students learn to play classical harp incorporating the Salzedo method which includes hand and wrist placement, finger technique and raising. Beginners learn to read music. Students must have their own harp and must call to see what method books would best serve them. Students do not have to have a pedal harp; classical harp can be taught on a lever (Celtic) harp.
LITERARY CREATIVE WRITING Rachel Pruitt For the beginner to the advanced writer. Topics include character development, memoir writing, fantasy writing, creating a publishable manuscript as well as writing techniques such as "show instead of telling", pacing and dialogue.

TAI CHI CHUAN LEVEL I ONGOING Mary B. Mayrosh Tai Chi Chuan is a system of maintaining mind & body health using a finite series of 60 movements in patterned sequences. The practice itself is hundreds of years old. The foundations of Tai Chi Chuan include stationary positions, movements, breathing methods, balance training, as well as mental and physical relaxation techniques.

SCULPTURE FUN 1 Mitch Coombs Students will have fun working with their hands to create 3-dimensional sculpture, using clay, plaster and Paper Mache. This is a fun class and a solid introduction to art.

Students will explore functional and sculptural projects and will develop skills in pinch, coil, slab and the potter's wheel as well as discover different wheel as well as discover different glazing techniques. They will learn to draw various subjects including people, settings, animals and create their own characters. After the basics, each student will proceed with projects of their choice in either Drawing (including full color painting) or Cartooning (comic book art and anime) according to their preference. Students receive individualized instruction.
